Program Security Officer - Onsite Support

Job Description


As a Program Security Officer within our Cybersecurity Division of SASSI, you will apply your experience and knowledge in DoD security policies and processes to include facility security such as FSO and COMSEC responsibilities; information systems security such as ISSO, RMF, and CMMC responsibilities; and operations security. This will assist a major corporation's efforts to fulfill contractual obligations to stand up DoD contractor facilities and systems in various locations across the United States. This will include guidance, coordination, developing and delivering documentation, supporting accreditation and system authorization activities, and corporate compliance with NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

  • In this hybrid remote position supporting a DoD contractor, you will be expected to assist our client in direct support to all security activities as they stand up new multiple locations.

  • Assist in drafting the initial security policies for the environments subjected to NIST 800-171 and CMMC requirements.

  • Assist in the physical and information systems security self-certifications of multiple sites.

  • Assist with developing and delivering documentation consistent with DoDI 8510.01 and supporting ATOs for multiple sites.

  • Develop and coordinate facility and system security policies & procedures.

  • Perform, monitor, and report on required system security scans and sustained ATO compliance.

  • Evaluate cross-functional security deficiencies and coordinate countermeasures.

  • Attend meetings with client and their DoD customers as required.

  • Willing to travel to various locations across the United States as required.


Basic Qualifications

  • Experience supporting network security within DoD programs.

  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree in National Security; Cybersecurity; Computer Science or other related field w/ 4-8 years of relevant experience.

  • Additional relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Must have the following professional or academic experience: - 3-5 years of experience automating IT administration, IT processes, or business processes; 3-5 years of experience managing or maintaining enterprise IT infrastructure (Servers, Storage, Network, and/or Security)


Technical Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements

A candidate for Program Security Officer position should be able to demonstrate…

  • Proficient and timely communication skills.

  • Problem solving ability to analyze and interpret complex problems or processes, identify and understand requirements and develop alternate solutions.

  • Experience in delivering RMF products (SSPs, Risk Assessments, etc.)

  • Experience in Facility Security Requirements for DoD facilities

  • Ability to interpret and provide guidance on DoD Security Policies

  • Ability to coordinate system security scan requirements; interpret findings; and coordinate remediation of findings to support continuous updates, patching, and security controls implementation.

  • Understanding of foundational networking concepts DNS, TCP/IP, Routing, Firewalls, etc.

  • Prior service as Program Security Officer supporting DoD or IC

  • Working with clients who do not always have the answer.


Security Clearance Requirements

  • US Citizenship

  • Secret clearance required.

Location

May post near Virginia or Arizona, with 25% travel expected.
